Frequently Asked Questions

About Cryoskin

Is it safe?

The device is very safe. In terms of programming and electronics, it is managed by a computerized Windows system. The cooling system is controlled by an electronic temperature sensor located in the processing head of the device and the temperature is controlled in real time by the machine and figures displayed on the screen. The Cryoskin Toning was launched 5 years ago and is used throughout France. It is currently the most successful non-invasive slimming treatment available in France.

What are the benefits?

Clinical studies have shown that this technology naturally destroys fat cells, but as with most techniques, the results vary from one individual to another. The expected effect is usually rapid: part of the fat cells are destroyed during the session while the others will be eliminated within 2 to 3 weeks. It has also been proven to help with micro circulation and a significant increase in collagen due to the thermal shock that is caused by the hot and cold.

Who should not have the treatment?

Anyone with the conditions below should not do this treatment:

  • Severe Raynaud’s syndrome
  • People who suffer from very poor circulation
  • Pregnant woman
  • Severe diabetes
  • Cancer
Can I work out before/after?

Absolutely there are no side effects to this treatment that will stop you working out.

What is the difference between Cryoskin and other Cryo treatments?

There are other manual cryotherapy machines. But tests and experience have shown that no other machine is currently capable of such dramatic results as the Cryoskin. These results are due to the fact that the device does not only produce cold but heat also. The exchange within these temperatures has a dramatic effect on the body’s tissues causing them to drop to 12 ° when fat tissues reach this temperature they die and are passed through the lymphatic system.

What happens if I come back before the 2 weeks?

The results may be compromised by the natural cycle of waste disposal and thus increase the risk of clogging the pathways. This does not represent a significant risk but would compromise the results.

What if I want to do my face, tummy, arms and legs?

We would not advise to do all of these areas in one session. For best results and safety in general it is advisable to practice treatment on the upper OR lower body during one session. This could be:

  • Face and arms in one session
  • Stomach and legs in another session
Can I have a longer session on one area?

We may extend the time when we are working with someone who has a much larger body mass. Pre-programmed treatments were performed on average body surfaces so are effective across a variety of body types.

Can I have Cryoskin if I'm pregnant?

Like any external treatment, this is not advisable on areas such as the tummy, breasts or even the hips. The safest option is to abstain from treatments altogether.

Who should have Cryoskin?

Anyone who is looking to lose weight or has stubborn areas of fat they are looking to remove.

Can I do anything to enhance the treatment?

By implementing a healthy lifestyle and a good diet.

How does it work?

The treatments lasts for 28 minutes and is done manually through a massage technique. The session begins with 2 minutes of heat and then a decrease in temperature to -8 degrees for the duration of the session. The purpose of the treatment is to lower the temperature of the fat cells enough to cause what is known as the phenomenon of apoptosis. This phenomenon is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissue is between 17 and 12 ° and causes these cells to die. These cells are then naturally passed through the body through the lymphatic system and urine.

How does it feel?

The treatment is painless, with some clients describing it as rather pleasant. This is due to the massage technique and the session beginning with skin warming descending into the gradual decrease of temperature.

How often can I have the treatment?

Slimming treatments can be performed once every 15 days and lifting treatments can be performed every 7 days. There is a physiological reason for this: when apoptosis occurs and some fat cells die, waste is formed. This will be eliminated by natural routes (blood, lymphatic system, and then urine). Metabolism must therefore be allowed to evacuate this waste without overloading the system.

What do I need to bring?

You do not need to bring anything, we provide you with everything you need.

Why can I only have the slimming treatment every 2 weeks?

The natural destruction of fat cells will cause cell waste. This waste is passed through the body naturally, first through the blood then the lymphatic system and then urine and this process on average takes 2 weeks.

Why can I only have 2 areas done at one time?

To not overload the body’s pathways. There is also strong internal cooling of the tissues and the treating of more zones at the same time could cause in extreme cases hypothermia and fatigue.

Do legs count as one area or two?

The session is divided between each leg so the legs count as one area.

What can happen if too long is spent on one area?

The treatment area could become a little irritated and local hypothermia could cause some transient (not serious) pain.

Are there any side-effects?

There are generally no side effects apart from the amount you urinate to increase slightly over the 3 days following the treatment along with the appearance of your urine in color.

In minimal cases there were the following side effects:

In some cases there were localized redness that disappeared after a few hours and in rare cases there was local pain that did not exceed 2 to 3 hours. There may also be some itching without consequences and often this is due to the reaction of certain cosmetic products used by clients; to avoid the chances of this do not use anything before coming in for treatment.

There were some experiences of delayed onset muscle soreness from treatments on the stomach due to unintentionally engaging the abdominals, again disappearing later that same evening.

How quickly will I see results?

The first results are generally visible from the first session and often very encouraging. However, it should be noted that the best results appear from 15 days to 3 weeks after the start of treatment and extend for several months after the end of treatment.

How long do the results last?

Depending on the individual and depending also on their lifestyle and diet, the results last several months or several years. It is advisable to practice 2 or 3 sessions 6 months after the end of treatment to maintain results.

About Scalp Micropigmentation

How does it work?

Scalp Micropigmentation is the process of having one’s scalp tattooed with tiny dots the size of a hair follicle to resemble the appearance of stubble to create a short, shaved look, or to make thinning hair appear thicker.

Is it safe?

There is no invasive surgery process, no scarring, and no down time, making Scalp Micropigmentation an immediate solution to hair loss.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients will require 2-3 sessions. Additional treatments will increase the density, the number of ink dots in one area. More density will result in a darker, more natural look, which will help integrate the procedure into any remaining hair. However, it’s always better to work conservatively and not do too much too quick.

Clients with scars are more likely to require more sessions as scar tissue absorbs ink more readily, resulting in more significant fading.

Treatments on clients with Alopecia may still be complete after 2-3 sessions, however the sessions are likely to be longer, especially if the client is suffering from aggressive Alopecia Areata or patchy hair loss, or Alopecia Totalis, the total loss of all head hair.

What if I normally wear a hairpiece?

If a client normally wears a hair system or hairpiece,  they will be unable to wear the hair system for 10-14 days after treatment to allow the treated area to breathe and heal properly.

If a client wears their hair system sooner, they take the chance that the procedure will not take properly.

Who should not have SMP?

Scalp micropigmentation will not be performed on clients with the following conditions:

  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Undergoing chemotherapy
  • Undergoing blood thinner therapy
  • Undergoing antibiotic therapy
  • Infectious diseases (HIV/Hepatitis)
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Liver disease
  • Epilepsy
  • Albinism
  • Blood clots

*Always consult with your family physician before having a scalp micropigmentation treatment

How do I prepare for treatment?

Steps to take prior to your SMP procedure:

  • Wash your scalp with a non-abrasive, gentle shampoo the week prior to your procedure. If experiencing breakouts on your scalp, please see a dermatologist or appropriate medical doctor to resolve this issue prior to your procedure.
  • After washing the scalp, moisturize the skin with some form of skin moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. Doing so will allow the ink to be properly absorbed.
  • Refrain from sun tanning to avoid burning and peeling of the skin.
  • If you are extremely sensitive to pain, mention before treatment for possible options or seek medical advice prior to procedure.
  • You may bring a clean hat or scarf to loosely cover your head after the treatment, if so desired.
  • Please do not wear a hair piece at least 10-14 days prior to your scheduled procedure. As wearing a hair piece may limit oxygen flow to the scalp and the ink may not be fully absorbed into the follicle.
  • Please do not use a razor on your scalp within 24 hours of the scheduled procedure. It is critical that we see all native hair in order to properly blend the hair follicles.
Is it painful?

Scalp Micropigmenation requires a small needle to be inserted into the upper dermis of the scalp. A certain amount of discomfort is inevitable, however most clients report the sensation to be nothing more than mildly irritating, even therapeutic.

The pain level the client will experience during their treatment is often described as a 3 to 4 out of 10 or equivalent to a small pinch. Pain has been described as varying, dependent upon what portion of the head the artist is working on. It has also been experienced that the frontal hairline and side profiles tend to be a more sensitive area.

What are the benefits?

Scalp Micropigmentation uses tiny tattooed dots the size of a hair follicle to give bald or balding clients appearance of stubble, or a short shaved look. It also makes thinning hair appear thicker. SMP can also help camouflage scalp scars.

What is the recovery period?

Clients will experience some redness and swelling on the scalp up to a few days after the procedure. The pigment initially will appear a few shades darker and can take one to seven days to lighten, and in rarer cases up to 14 days.

Bruising can also occur from time to time, which may cause the treated area to appear darker or to appear slightly blue. This is relatively uncommon, affecting approximately 1 in 10 clients, and goes away after a few days.

How are scars treated?

Scar tissue reacts differently for each client, so  those areas may require a greater number of treatments. In addition, clients should come back within 5 to 7 days, or when swelling disappears, for a session that strengthens the fast fading pigment in the scar area. Treatment duration ranges from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the treated area.

Can cancer survivors have SMP?

Yes, it’s safe to treat cancer survivors, as not only will most medical aesthetic treatments be confidence builders, but these procedures pose no real threat to the client. However, cancer survivors may experience slower healing time.

Especially for these clients, the post-care regimen will be extremely important. Aesthetic treatments can begin as soon as the client is cleared to do so by their physician.

How do I care for the area after treatment?
  • Do not touch the healing pigmented area with your fingers, they may have bacteria on them and create an infection.
  •  Apply your favorite antibiotic ointment or Vaseline 3-5 times daily until the procedure area has healed. Always use a clean cotton swab and not your fingertips.
  • No make-up, sun, soap, sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming in chlorine pools or in the recreational bodies of water, contact with animals, gardening for 7-10 days, (until area is completely healed) post procedure and after all touch-ups.
  • Before bathing, gently apply a light coating of Vaseline on the procedure area using a clean cotton swab. Continue this regime until the procedure area has completely healed.
  • Do not rub or traumatize the procedure area while it is healing (pigment may be removed along with crusting tissue).
  • Use a “total sun block” after the procedure area has healed to prevent future fading of
    pigment color.
  • Do not use products that contain AHA’s on the procedure area. Example: Glycolic, Lactic Acids. Always check your product labeling, it will fade your pigment color!
  • If you are a blood donor, you may not give blood for 1 year following your Permanent Make-up application (per Red Cross).
  • Touch-up visits should be scheduled between 30-45 days post procedure.
  • Permanent Make-up procedures are a two-step process. Results are not determined until touch-up application is completed.

About Fibroblast

How does it work?

Fibroblast treatment is the process of removing the volume of excess skin with the use of plasma.

This cosmetic procedure has become well known for being low risk with minimal downtime and being more affordable than surgery.

Is it safe?

This is very safe, low-risk, and highly effective treatment for skin tightening. As with most cosmetic treatments, a consultation with an experienced, trained practitioner prior to service, as well as a strict aftercare routine, is required to promote proper healing and to help you achieve the maximum results.

What makes the skin tighten?

Plasma Skin Tightening is a non-surgical cosmetic enhancement designed to shrink the skin using a sterile, disposable probe.

Fibroblasts are the collagen producing cells in the skin. Fibroblast treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen, which is used to produce plasma waves.

The pen is held above the skin and a tiny plasma arc connects the tip of the device to the surface of the skin. Using plasma waves, the old collagen is removed by sublimation (evaporation), and fibroblasts are stimulated to produce new collagen. The targeted skin contracts and is essentially eliminated without any cutting, which results in the tightening and shrinking of the targeted skin.

What does "plasma" refer to?

During Fibroblast Treatment, the pen creates an electric plasma arc. These tiny arcs of plasma are created by an electrical discharge between the tip of the pen and the skin, singeing the surface and tightening the underlying tissue.

The technology involves the use of plasma, formed through the ionization of atmospheric gas, which then works to stimulate the contraction, shortening and tightening of skin fibers. This results in the reduction of the skin surface.

What areas does Fibroblast treat?

Fibroblast can treat the following skin areas:

  • Surgical Blepharoplasty
  • Wrinkle Reduction
  • Senile Angiomas
  • Flat Warts
  • Telangiectasia
  • Soft Fibroids
  • Stretch Marks
  • Common Warts
  • Skin Tightening
  • Skin Tags
  • Seborrheic Warts
  • Angiokeratomas
  • Xanthelasma
  • Seborrheic Keratosis
  • Keratosis Actinica
  • Capillary Nevi
  • Lentigos
  • Keratoacanthomas
  • Molluscum Contagiosum
  • Filiform Warts
  • Nevus Araneus
  • Keratosis
  • Melasma
  • Scar Correction
How long does it take to see results?

The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the final results will be seen after eight weeks. For some, an additional treatment may be required after eight weeks for maximum results.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required will vary according to the area being treated, skin laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Most patients see results instantly and will continue to improve over the course of the following eight weeks. Further treatments can be carried out to achieve better results. Appointments must be spaced out by 4-8 weeks.

What is the recovery period?

Immediately after treatment the area may be red and mildly swollen with small carbon crusts (spots).

The client may experience a sensation similar to a sunburn, which will likely last a few hours.

Swelling may intensify over the following few hours, more so when eyes are treated, and may last 2-3 days. The carbon crusts will lift within 5 -12 days depending on the individual and area treated. Results gradually improve over the course of the following eight weeks.

What are the benefits?

Fibroblast is a great, non-invasive method of tightening the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. This procedure can also treat unwanted freckles, age spots and more.

This advanced procedure helps to revive natural levels of collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin needed for fresh youthful skin.

What is a fibroblast?

Fibroblasts are the collagen producing cells in the skin. Fibroblast treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen, which is used to produce plasma waves. The waves are directed as tiny light spots along the wrinkle lines.

The targeted skin contracts and is essentially eliminated without any cutting, which results in the tightening and shrinking of the targeted skin.

What happens during the procedure?

Fibroblast treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen, which is used to produce plasma waves. The waves are directed as tiny light spots along the wrinkle lines. The tip of the pen never touches the skin (and the needle-like attachment is a sterile, disposable, one-time use product).

A series of tiny brown spots are strategically placed to attain the desired result. The skin around the dot tightens instantly, pulling the cells closer together.

This advanced procedure helps to revive natural levels of collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin needed for fresh youthful skin.

Is it painful?

A numbing agent is applied and left to take effect for up to 30 minutes. When the treatment area is sufficiently numb, the session begins with multiple connections of the fibroblast tip, spaced closely together.

Clients may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable and slightly irritating. Treatment time is usually between 10-40 minutes, depending on the size of the area.

Why is Fibroblast better than surgery?

Fibroblast advantages versus surgery:

  • No cutting of skin
  • No stitches required
  • Very low risk procedure
  • Minimal side effects and far less downtime
  • Quick & easy procedure
  • No risk of blindness as there is with surgery
  • No thinning of the skin
  • Significant cost saving
How long will my results last?

As Fibroblast is more than a simple tightening treatment (skin volume is actually reduced), the effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery. Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of Fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further aging, but the positive results should last years, depending on the area treated.

How can I maximize my results?

There are lifestyle factors that can increase lasting results. Some of these include refraining from smoking, limiting alcohol consumption, avoiding prolonged sun exposure, and other factors that increase skin aging.

How do I prepare for treatment?

It is recommended that sun protection of SPF 30-50 be used daily for at least two weeks prior to the Fibroblast treatment(s).

Skin care products with ingredients such as retinols, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), tretinoin or any type of Vitamin A derivatives should be avoided.

Clients are advised to stay out of the sun, tanning salons and refrain from using any self-tanning products for three weeks.
